Why?[edit]

Why does he seem to be one of the less characters? Is it because he is overweight? Or is it just because and there is no reason to it?--kitsumiti 15:55, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think there is just no reason to it. FellowWikipedian 21:56, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would say Choji is one of the stronger characters. You just don't see it 'cause he always hide around his bag of chips. = ) --Francis820 15:59, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't say that if I were you. In the tenth and final of the Chunin Exam Prelims he lost out to Sound Villager and Orochimaru flunky Dosu Kinuta. It was all so anticlimactic, Choji needs to get killed off. He doesn't deserve to carry a bag of chips with him every time if he wants to be a ninja. He's unworthy of that title, so he should've been killed off. --Seishirou Sakurazuka 01:20, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's a little unfair to judge so harshly a character for whom a major theme is transformation by his poor performance in the arc in which he was introduced. If he weren't ineffective in the Chunin Exam arc, it would not be impressive that he grows into one of the stronger characters. Don't forget that during the Sasuke Retrieval arc only Choji and Neji can defeat members of the Sound Four on their own, and although Jirobo was the weakest of the four, it is still no mean feat.
He also later passed the Chunin exams so clearly he has improved.
Remember the Retrieve Sasuke arc, Choji is judged to be the strongest in taijutsu out of those present, beating out Naruto, Kiba, and even Neji. He may be a big ball of lard, but when that big ball of lard is rolling towards you at insane speeds, you don't want to be in the way >_> -- Seraphchoir 18:46, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What is with yall. Saying that he should be killed off because he's a minor character. You guys have nothing better to do but go to the pages of the people you don't like, and say how much that person should be killed off. If you really hate a character, please keep it to yourself. Remember that kids read this. You have to admit, if he wasn't there Naruto just wouldn't feel the same. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.166.216.138 (talk) 10:16, 8 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

The section on him and Shikamaru[edit]

It seems to me that this section doesn't read very well and needs to be tagged for cleanup.

Suggest tagging the article for clean-up.

Requested move[edit]

Akimichi ChōjiChōji Akimichi – As pointed out in Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Anime_and_manga#Naruto_character_article_titles, the current names for articles about Naruto characters are inconsistent with the names used for other anime characters (Naruto characters use Japanese order for names, while most other anime characters have their name in Western order), as well not following the naming guidelines in WP:MOS-JA.

DO NOT COMMENT HERE. Please participate in the centralized discussion at Talk:Uzumaki Naturo

Choji vs. Chōji[edit]

The article name and wikilinks/headings should probably read Choji for convenience of linking, but what's the WP policy on instances of his name within the article? --Pentasyllabic 19:25, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It should probably be consistent with the title. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 19:41, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
