Article has some serious issues

I created a new current section in history to house all the ragtag of info that was spilling out of the previous (musharraf) section and deleted the PNCM section reducing it to a mention here. The older parts of the article need work but the real problem is all the listed films supposedly in pre production. Films should only be mentioned if they have finished principal photography and are therefore 'due for release'. To be honest one of the major problems I am seeing as an editor all over articles from the region is that there seems to be a culture of using wikipedia as verification per se or simple advertising, in some cases for things which do not exist or at least have no verification. There is one film in this list which has its own page and was due for release 3 years ago, with no news on it anywhere apart from it's initial hype.--Filmmaker2011 (talk) 11:15, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

There is on doubt that there is a serious disrespect of the ethos of wikipedia on articles about media, music and particularly film from Pakistan. It is often and blatantly used as an advertising platform for individuals. It is quite simple, no film not yet released, regardless of hype or interest should be included in this article. as a simple guideline we should restrict films that are not successful (in the Pakistans highest grossing article as a reference) or that do not gain international recognition in some other way, like for instance winning several awards at KNOWN film festivals. As an example I would not include Mansoor's film Bol for it's small festival win's but I would because it was seen by a lot of people, made money and has since been shown on UK's Channel 4). Let's try to stamp out the chronic and flagrant disregard for the rules of wikipedia by wanabees hoping that no one will be bothered to check whether they or their work even exists (film's exist not because they are on youtube, but ONLY if they are shown on general release or after a time become cult classics, with widespread release and recognition. As an example of this Choorian by Syed Noor would cover both as it was a success and still continues to be talked about and watched almost 20 years later, a very rare thing in Pakistani cinema).PakArtPatrol (talk) 11:57, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
