I suspect strongly, the importance of this subject is that the Irving/Irwin/Ervine/Etc clan have been counted among Scottish Royalty for nearly 2000 years... tracing their history to the High Kings of Ulster, Ireland... and are related via their women to every Scottish King in the past 1000 years.

They are related to MacBeth (of Shakespeare fame), as well as President Theodore Roosevelt, one of the more infamous descendants was Washington Irving, author of Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Rip Van Winkle, etc. The Irvine family contemporaries can even be traced into the Arthurian Legend of the Knights of the Round Table.
