I will review this article shortly. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 20:38, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- Lead
- I fixed a typo and added a colon to the lead.
- "Both raced in the 100 meters events, and neither advanced beyond the first round." - Is it just one event? Why is "events" plural? Also, I would replace "and" with "but". « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 20:56, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- Events is because one is a man, and one is a woman, so, yeah, two separate events. Courcelles (talk) 21:35, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- Background
- "The Comoros joined Olympic competition at the 1996 Summer Olympics, and have participated at every Summer Olympic Games since, though the nation has yet to debut at the Winter Olympic Games." - Why "The Comoros". At the beginning of the article you use "Comoros" without the "The". Also, you don't need the first comma. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 20:56, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- "The Comoros delegation to Sydney consisted of two track and field athletes, Hadhari Djaffar and Sandjema Batouli." - when you state that there is a number of something and then list them out by name, a colon is usually preferred. Recommend one after athletes instead of the comma. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 20:56, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- Both good catches, and fixed. Courcelles (talk) 21:36, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- Athletics
- "...time of the Sydney Olympics, and was making her only Olympic appearance." - no need for the comma. Assuming she is still eligible, it would be her first appearance, or only appear so far.
- Comma removed. First would imply there are more, or are even likely to be more, which is spectacularly unlikely at her current age. Courcelles (talk) 21:37, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- "...first round of the women's 100 metres, and was drawn into..." - no need for the comma.
- "...heats of the men's 100 metres, and was drawn into heat seven." - no need for the comma.
- "He completed the race in a time of 10.68 seconds, seventh out of nine competitors in his heat, however his time was insufficient to advance, as 10.48 seconds was the slowest qualifying time." - this needs to be split up into two sentences.
- "The gold medal was eventually won in 9.87 seconds by Maurice Greene of the United States; the silver was won by Ato Boldon of Trinidad and Tobago, and the bronze was earned by Obadele Thompson of Barbados." - either both pauses need to be semi-colons or both need to be commas. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 20:56, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- Images
- Only image is the Comoros flag, which is PD. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 20:56, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
