History and other improvements[edit]

Have added a section on the history of Cottam taken from various local sources (cited). There are brief mentions of the village through various histories and documents contained in Retford library and elsewhere. Few are about the people who lived here.

This village really needs a up to date photograph of the main street, similar to the contained in the Bassetlaw Council assessment. None found on Wikipedia. There is no public domain photo of the church. The static picture is of a farm that was demolished many years ago in order for the power station to be built (1964) - not sure this is a true reflection what the village looks like today! or should be the representative image of the village.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Thurzajones (talk • contribs) 09:02, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
