History

[edit]

In Chapter 2 of Lorna Doone, narrator John gives an account of his youth at a 17th century boarding school and the contemporary attitude toward "day boys". These fellows were traditionally beaten daily and "to their credit seemed to know how righteous it was to kick them". Blackmoor was being ironic but the sentiment is probably accurate. Redirecting this article to Boarding school

[edit]

Hello, This article has seen vanishingly few edits since 2005 and I think that there's no real potential for an encyclopedia article here -- at the moment the article is just a dictionary definition, something we seek to avoid. I'm going to unilaterally redirect this article to boarding school -- I would happily reverse myself if anyone has any well-founded objection. A Traintalk 08:58, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
