Re: Opposition to DESO

Personally speaking, I am all for the closure of DESO. Nonetheless, I felt that it was appropriate to change part of this section as it read more like (the excellent) CAAT newsheet than an encyclopeia article. If others have time to change the text further, keeping the powerful arguments yet phrasing them better they should continue along these lines. Hey there whoever deleted most of the information on this page? I was talking about changing the tone of this piece, not preventing citizens from being informed about what their taxes are spent on, and coming to a conclusion themselves. I have reinstated much of the information in a haphazard way, tried to re-write it and remove the most blatant POVs.

Where do I start? Hey there, read the edit history, it was me who deleted most of the information. Also if you had read the edit history you would see I removed the information for a very good reason, that I was reverting an "almost verbatim copyvio of http://www.caat.org.uk/publications/armsfairs/dsei-2003-report/introducing-dsei.php and similar pages". I was not "preventing citizens from being informed about what their taxes are spent on" - I was removing unacceptable text as per Wikipedia policy. It isn't up to me to go around paraphrasing what the original contributor couldn't be bothered to! Mark83 18:09, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

OK, I understand and accept your motives at the time. From the fact that you haven't edited the changes I made yesterday, I take it that you are broadly content with the current neutrality of the article. If not, do let me know.
