Derivation of "Derwent"

"Derventio" looks to me like a Latinised (and therefore Roman) form of the name, rather than a Brythonic word. Elsewhere the derivation is given as Brythonic "derw" (oak) + "went" (valley). Northern rock (talk) 16:39, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
