"Unincorporated" is not quite accurate, when Alaska Department of Natural Resources has been creating such communities, they have been incorporating them as "Homeowner's Associations".

So they are in fact incorporated.

While that might not fit an "incorporated municipality" versus "unincorporated", elsewhere, Alaska has several unique "flavors" of communities: (the Native Village Corporations, etc.) LeheckaG (talk) 21:54, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
