Bad sources

[edit]

The hype about "adulterants" is basically just a smokescreen for the fact that using MDMA and similar drugs is inherently harmful, allowing any ill effects to be blamed on "bad batches" and "impurities." If it's really true that drug checking improves safety, maybe the people writing the article can get some real citations in that refer to proper scientific studies, instead of just links to tweets and websites from organizations pushing this practice? That's somewhat unfair. The reports from the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre and the Parliament of Victoria are not from organisations involved in testing. I will admit that this is such a new area for research that the published academic work is limited to the studies by Giné, Benschop, Measham, and Saleemi. Further independent research is underway in Switzerland and New Zealand (https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/research-drug-checking-impacts) When that is published, we can update the article.Happyinmotion (talk) 18:56, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
