one of the longest?[edit]

"one of the longest human genes known" Why not just write it explicitly whether it is the longest or not? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.252.210.12 (talk) 19:17, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

because its difficult to know exactly the length of any gene sicne hte defintion of a gene is somewhat fuzzy at the single base level; or indeed if all genes are in fact fully characterized...

that said, these caveats are probably not going to produce a longer gene. the dmd gene is generally considered 'the longest human gene' by a wide margin, (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_genome) and the statement is a bit too conservative and thus less informative than it could be in not stating this more unambiguously.

What's the rest of the gene? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.139.86.185 (talk) 08:56, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Transcript length[edit]

How is the primary transcript 200 kilobases longer than the gene? One of those must be incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Taggath (talkcontribs) 00:37, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
