[edit]According to ODE, "ecclesiastical" means "relating to the Christian Church or its clergy". preceding unsigned comment by RSK6400, 10:05, 6 December 2020
@Veverve: I agree that my previous change of target had the problem that "Christian Church" is a protestant term. But "ecclesiastical" is definitely not the adjective of "ecclesiology". I see two possible solutions: A redirect to Church (a disambiguation page) or to Christian denomination (another protestant term). I have a feeling that there is a protestant bias in the organization of these articles, but a major re-organization would be an awful task. Any thoughts ? --Rsk6400 (talk) 07:41, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Rsk6400: It would be better to redirect to Christian denomination (which is not a Protestant term as far as I know). What do you say? Veverve (talk) 07:51, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- Or we could put a Template:Wiktionary redirect. Veverve (talk) 08:03, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- "Ecclesiastical" is linked from such articles as Hagiography (
... is a biography of a saint or an ecclesiastical leader ...
) or Bartholomew I (...receiving the ecclesiastical name Bartholomew
). According to WP:R#PLA, we'd also have to mention "ecclesiastical" in bold letters on the target page, which would look a bit strange on "Church" or "Christian denomination". That's why I think your last suggestion is the best solution. --Rsk6400 (talk) 10:02, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
