First article[edit]

This is the first (substantial) article I've ever created, so please point out any mistakes I've made! I may have chosen a quite broad article for my first article, but it's a subject that's interested me for years so I couldn't resist. Hope someone a lot more knowledgeable can come and add to it/make any corrections! :-)

Speedy Deletion[edit]

I'd quickly like to contest the speedy deletion of the page - the page has the potential to contain more information specifically about water and life than [article on water], also the article on water is already very long. I just made it about 30 minutes ago, and of course I intend to do a lot more work on it.

Of course, as the page's creator, I admit to a certain amount of bias, so perhaps we could take a poll? :-)

The reason I tagged the article is because I saw a lot of the same information as in water, without much more on why the two should be split, and without much new information. I changed the tag to a {{prod}} tag rather than a speedy deletion tag to give you some time to try and hash out the article and show why it is significant on its own. Not something I have a ton of knowledge on, but hopefully you can add some good info and I can remove the tag. --Terrillja (talk) 22:35, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for changing the Water and life article's deletion to a regular deletion request - it should give me enough time to flesh it out considerably! GreenOnBlue (talk) 22:36, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've went ahead and removed the proposed deletion tag, as clearly I object to it ;) GreenOnBlue (talk) 12:13, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion May 2009[edit]

Kbrose - No need to get Speedy Deletion happy again, the article simply needs a clean up, it is both factual and interesting. 90.194.37.147 (talk) 22:32, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All of this is already contained in the other water articles in pretty much the identical format, nothing new here, except for even worse scientific accuracy here. There is no coherent treatment of the proposed subject matter. In fact, the really interesting aspect for support of life are not only the physical properties, but the chemistry and biology resulting from them, which isn't discussed here at all. The cleanup should be a complete rewrite, perhaps with a more descriptive article title. Kbrose (talk) 22:47, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
After review of past deletion proposal and the follow up by the editors, it appears that despite promise of revisions nothing in fact was done to improve the article. Kbrose (talk) 23:02, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed - A redirect is more practicable than a speedy delete. 90.194.37.147 (talk) 22:01, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As reviewing admin, I removed the speedy tag. Either redirect, or take it to AfD, or , best of all, add to the article. There is way enough published material on this topic for a separate article, but if nobody wants to write it, a redirect would do. DGG (talk) 23:06, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
