additions needed to Election Reform page[edit]

This article also needs to address many more issues in election systems. For example,

1) testing and certification of election equipment (especially security and penetration threat testing);

2) enforcement of certification regulations (equipment is on the market that should never have been certified in the first place);

3) enforcement of existing local/state election regulations/legislation (rules that currently exists are often blatantly ignored by election officials);

4) issues pertaining to voter registration;

5) issues pertaining to advisability/implications of voter registration databases and/or election data being held on remote central servers;

6) election campaign financing issues;

7) issues relating to election officals (e.g., blatant partisanship; lack of independent non-partisan oversight);

8) lack of opportunities for citizens to observe the "real" counting process, particularly when the counting is carried out by electronic machines;

9) impropriety on the part of vendors and their lobbyists;

10) improrpriety on the part of election officials;

11) election reform that would serve the needs of the disabled without compromising election integrity (including non-electronic solutions for disabled voters);

12) proven security exploits having to do with election systems (this could include all kinds of technology, not only electronic);

13) Links to lists of election irregularities, grouped by category and/or geographic location;

14) More info on different kinds of election/voting systems (e.g. Condorcet, PR-STV, IRV, etc.);

15) improrpriety in the voter registration process;

16) ways that the public can participate in the election reform process (enforcement, legislative, media, etc.);

17) election reform and implications for civil rights (e.g. minority participation);

18) additions to the list of organizations involved in various aspects of election reform

Each of these topics (and many others) deserve one or more articles of their own. The initial page on Election Reform should give a "Table of Contents" to link to other sub-articles.
