Stage 2?

[edit]

Wouldn't he be Stage 2? Elekid --> Electabuzz --> Erekiburu Ace ofspade 18:45, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Elekid is a Baby Pokémon, so he evolves into a Basic Pokémon. It's kinda confusing, but Erekiburu is a Stage 1 Pokémon. Highway Return to Oz... 18:47, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's correct. Like Raichu, Clefable and Wigglytuff. Double Dash 22:26, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

Even though the Japanese name is "Erekiburu", the page's name can be turned into the romanicization to "Elekiburu", following the romanicization of "Erekiddo" into "Elekid" and "Erebuu" into "Eleboo". Except there is a redirect set up in place that is obstructing that move. Ryūlóng 21:19, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's because Nintendo have trademarked Erekiburu, so for now that's its official name until officially Romanized. Double Dash 10:46, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Elekible!!!!!![[1]]71.68.1.12 23:08, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It'll probably be Electabull or something. Electabuzz is "Erebô" in Japanese, so a direct translation might not work. Might even be Elecable. DanPMK 01:20, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Electabull. Yeah, that sounds right.--Jnelson09 20:39, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not discuss fannish topics at Wikipedia, forums are designed for this, talk pages aren't. Highway Daytrippers 20:45, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The name of the article is currently Elebull. Due to the cables, it is likely to be Elecable or something similar. As the true english name has yet to be revealed, the article should be changed to the romanization —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.229.169.162 (talk) 16:30, 16 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]
His name must be Electabull/Elekibull because if you go to [2] and hover over "Elekible" you will notice that it says "Electricity Bull" therefore the buru means bull and not cable. KL 02:37, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Serebii will announce the official english name for Erekiburu which is "Elekible" or "Electabull".—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.122.70.42 (talk) 23:46, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Serebii isn't an official source. --71.227.110.155 17:34, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Serebii's just announced it as Electivire, and in-keeping with Chatot, Mantyke, and Buizel, seems we're mentioning the name report but not taking it as official.

Elekible's cables

[edit]

Here's Elekible's Pokédex entry:It attacks by plugging the tips of its 2 tails into the foe, and releasing an electric current that is higher than 20,000 volts.

Proof positive that Elekible's cables are it's tails.67.87.66.127 02:05, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First Electric Type

[edit]

'Since it evolves from Electabuzz, it can learn anything Electabuzz or Elekid can learn - and more, such as Flamethrower and Earthquake, making it the first Electric type to learn these moves.'

Isn't Electabuzz an electric type? If it is, then this pokemon (whatever its name) is by far not the first electric type to learn these moves.Laganojunior 02:52, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do believe that is referring to Flamethrower and Earthquake. On a side note, Electrike and Manectric can learn Flamethrower as of Diamond and Pearl, though they couldn't before.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 04:15, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Electivire

[edit]

The page has been moved to Electivire again. I would like to see what the consensus is on this, so it can be handled accordingly (i.e. left alone if decided, or moved back). Now, Serebii.net is probably not wrong, but there's always the possibility. I also don't believe the information can be verified by any official source. Thoughts?—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 23:06, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's nothing to say. This is exactly what happened with Chatot and still happening with Mantyke (I'm not counting Buizel…no fanboys seem to care, strangely). We should just move it back to Elekible since the name Electivire has not been officially confirmed.—ウルタプ 23:22, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, they don't seem to care because Buoysel is appearing in the 9th movie. That's their rationale. -Jeske (v^_^v) 23:55, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll move the page back, then.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 23:30, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wait until the final episode of the 3rd generation of pokemon.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.91.92.9 (talk) 23:57, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And when's that coming out? Before April, when D&P come out? -Jeske (v^_^v) 23:59, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
About March 2.Also Psypoke is reliable along with Nintendo.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.91.92.9 (talk) 00:08-00:11, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fansites are not reliable (see Wikipedia: Reliable sources). -Jeske (v^_^v) 00:15, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It will come out at March 2.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.91.92.9 (talkcontribs)
Well, we'll just have to wait. Like, for something official and tangible and not "oh, it's gonna happen".—ウルタプ 00:39, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the movie comes out April 3rd, not March 2nd. The games come out April 22nd. --WikidSmaht (talk) 02:16, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
March 2 is the release date of the final episode of the 3rd generation show.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.91.92.65 (talk) 23:29, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So we hear.—M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 23:38, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Right you are. And when that airs, we will change and move the article. NOT BEFORE, unless Nintendo announces the information in some other place. Nintendo, not Serebii or Psypokes or whoever. --WikidSmaht (talk) 01:03, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Of course we should leave it at the Japanese name for now. To do otherwise would be ridiculous after how hard we have been fighting on other articles. Fortunately, our little idiot anon here has prevented a( further) move war and sabataged his/her own side by trying to redirect Electivire to itself. --WikidSmaht (talk) 02:16, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No one just noticed, This time it DIDNT say it was not confirmed, it said that it was exclusive like the others. Therefore, by process of elimination, it has to be confirmed :/ Myzou 13:07, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Exclusive doesn't always mean confirmed. -Jeske (v^_^v) 14:49, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For example, I could exclusively report that D/P is being renamed Pokémon Corn and Beets on my blog. I would be the only one reporting so, so it would be exclusive. It would also be wrong. The only difference here is that Serebii is probably right. But that’s not the same as the information being officially confirmed, and until it is, we can’t report it as fact on Wikipedia. --WikidSmaht (talk) 16:23, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

give credit where credeit is due

[edit]

sorrey to interupt your arguing, but i changed the part about Electivire's U.S. name being released on serebii as in i gave them credit HHS.student

Someone please change the title of this article to Electivire. I don't know how. 75.42.138.15 22:42, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We can't, as Electivire is NOT OFFICIAL. See Chatot and its history. -Jeske (v^_^v) 22:44, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
However, the 2007 Toy Fair in New York confirms the name. Cipher (Talk to the hand) 22:02, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then see if the other (named, not xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) editors agree and, if they do, change the article over and reference the NYTF. If they don't, you're essentially shot outta luck. If it fits, you have my support. -Jeske (v^_^v) 22:29, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Even if we do want to move it back to Electivire, we need an admin to do it properly so we keep the history.—ウルタプ 00:38, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Survey - in support of the move

  1. Support. It doesn't make sense to keep the article at the Japanese name when we know the English name. -Jeske (v^_^v) 17:45, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Support. Putting the Japanese Romanization above an English name, even if it is later changed, is ridiculous. ' 19:06, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Support. The article says Electivire and so should the name. Cipher (Talk to the hand) 19:51, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He appears in the final episode of Battle Frontier, which airs this Saturday in the USA, get the offical name from there.Lego3400: The Sage of Time 03:33, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, we'll do that after the actual airing. We're considering it official for now because of Toy Fai 2007.—ウルタプ 05:19, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
