Lead and infobox

[edit]
  • I would include ALT text for the infobox image.

Background and recording

[edit]
  • I would use Kylie Minogue’s full name and add a wikilink to her main article the first time she is mentioned in the body of the article.
  • Would it be necessary to clarify that Donovan was Minogue’s then-boyfriend? I think it could be guessed that Minogue and Donovan are no longer together since the song was released back in 1988, but would it be beneficial to clarify that they are not longer dating or romantically linked now?
  • The main Wikipedia article on Stock Aitken Waterman does not have a comma after “Stock”, but a comma is present in this article. I am not sure which one is correct, but I wanted to raise this to your attention.
  • I would add a link for PWL Studios.
  • It might be helpful to wikilink Pete Waterman in the quote box.

Music and lyrics

[edit]
  • I am not sure if “bibliography” is the current description for the 2014 book. I am more used to see this word used to reference a collection of sources than a book.
  • Since the SAW acronym is used twice in the body of the article, I would include it in parenthesis after the first time Stock Aitken Waterman is mentioned to clarify the meaning.
  • For the “still-Astley-riffic” quote, I do not think “riffic” should be included in the wikilink.
  • I have always been told that audio samples for album articles should be about a song that represents the album as a whole in some way. How does this audio sample represent the album as a whole?

Release

[edit]
  • For this part (and not "some icon on a pedestal"), I think "as" should be added in front of the quote.
  • I would remove the Rhythm of Love wikilink as the album is wikilinked in a previous section.

Promotion

[edit]
  • For this part (In October 1989, Minogue launched her first concert tour, Disco in Dream), I think the comma should go after Dream.
  • Could you clarify what you mean by "modern house"?

Critical reception

[edit]
  • Did Larkin provide any reason for his rating?
The encyclopedia only mentions this album by its singles and chart peaks. He rated all her studio albums with no comments whatsoever. Damian Vo (talk) 15:10, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]
  • I have a question about the reference style for the books. Some of the references are broken into page numbers in the "Footnotes" subsection with a link to the full book citation in the "Sources" subsection. See examples like Reference 20, 21, 22, 23, and 32. However, for some references, the full book citations is put into the "Footnotes" subsection instead. See Reference 14, 72, 86, 89, and 97 to see what I mean.

Final comments

[edit]

Wonderful work with the article. I am a big fan of Minogue's music, although as an American, there is still probably a lot about Mingoue's music that I do not know. It is a shame that she never really "broke into the American market". I guess that she was just too pop for America's radio and music trends. Once my comments are addressed, I will be more than happy to promote this as a good article. If you have the time, I would appreciate any insight at my current FAC. Either way, have a great rest of your week! Aoba47 (talk) 01:49, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for another detailed review and for taking the time to review this. I think I've responded to all points. Please let me know if I missed anything. Damian Vo (talk) 15:10, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
