Needs introduction[edit]

This article needs more of an introduction for the non-specialist; it is impossible to follow for people who don't already know the subject. Waves in what-- the ocean? the atmosphere? How is this different from Rossby waves? Geoffrey.landis (talk) 19:17, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
