I'm sorry MOTORAL1987, but I don't see why we should have this article. This is essentially just the first sentence of the Brexit article, but packed with dates and trivia. I suggest we delete it. ― Hebsen (talk) 23:10, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been created mainly in preparation for the events that will take place on the 31st of January 2020 itself (ie Brexit Day) especially now we know it will now happen on that date we need to prepare, granted it is currently a little lacking in detail but as we get closer to the date more and more can be added to this article. We need a article that covers the the historic moment itself of the UK leaving the EU and this article has been created for that purpose. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 21:30, 22 December 2019 (UTC))[reply]
But what events will take place on that date? Will there be a ceremony? Any large-scale logistic mission? Any big explosion? Or will the clock just run out, and something de jure will have changed? UK will leave EU, but only to immediately enter a transition period where pretty much everything is as it was before. Yes, the date is very important, but if there is not planned anything specific to happen on this day, then we should just refer readers to the reason it is important, namely the Brexit article (or perhaps the invocation of article 50-article). ― Hebsen (talk) 22:46, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think there will be events, like the ringing out of Big Ben at 11pm as we leave and I think there will be also some other events, I don’t think there will be a actual ceremony but I think there will be low key events that will take place in Brussels during the course of the day leading up to 11pm. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 08:18, 23 December 2019 (UTC))[reply]

I have now nominated this article for deletion. Big Ben chiming is certainly not enough for an article. We should concentrate content on other Brexit articles. ― Hebsen (talk) 15:31, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Post withdrawal transition process

[edit]

The article should contain a section on the post withdrawal transition process which is currently scheduled to take place until late 2020. 109.146.17.196 (talk) 23:13, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think that’s a fair enough given that Exit Day is the first of a two stage process with regards to Brexit and the article should reflect that so I am more than happy for that to be included. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 21:27, 22 December 2019 (UTC))[reply]

Planned Events

[edit]

I have added a section as it does appear there will be some planned events on the night of our exit from the European Union, the section in question does need expanding but there are things we can add.
