re: "two 6BQ5 rated at 30 watts" Don't know where the author (or Fender) got this "rating", but it's simply not possible. The 6BQ5 is not able to dissipate anything near to 30 watts in a class AB1 configuration, which is where it is being operated in this circuit.
You're looking at more like 20 watts, MAYBE - on a good day - with fresh Mullards.
