Comments on deleted parts

[edit]

I have removed the following from this article.

fitrah has physical characteristics: circumcision (preferably when one is seven days old), shaving one's pubic hairs, plucking one's armpit hairs, trimming one's facial hair so that it does not cover the mouth and clipping one's nails. This sounds like pure nonsense or is a cleverly disguised attempt at vandalism. Either way it does not belong here. Sorry if that makes the article shorter. I am searching for "legitimate" material to compensate for what was deleted. SahirShah 05:10, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure why you would delete material without confirming your suspicions. http://www.islamworld.net/fitrah.html

The material cited above properly belongs in a discussion of sunan al-fitrah, either as a subsection, or perhaps in its own article with a link from this one. Also, please sign your posts to the talk page by typing ∼∼∼∼ at the end. Thank you.

Regarding merger of "Fitrah" and "Fitra": these are simply variant Romanizations of the same Arabic word and describe the same concept. There is absolutely no reason to have separate pages. If no one objects, I will merge the pages in a few days.
