Some observations

[edit]

The yellow of the aurora might represent wealth, but that could be referring to the gold of the anchor on the Murmansk coat of arms. The aurora is said to be "the same length as the width of the flag" but also 2/5ths the width of the flag, I assume that means that the un-bent length of the aurora is the same as the width of the flag but I can't be sure. Here are some unused sources that all say essentially the same thing https://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/ru-51.html#flag https://escholarship.org/content/qt8c36x1g5/qt8c36x1g5.pdf (earlier, more detailed archive) http://www.vexillographia.ru/russia/subjects/murmansk.htm I hope whoever finds this in the future can interpret the russian better than google translate can henrysz ▪ 💬 ▪ 👀 02:25, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
