Variant forms[edit]

In addition to "first half only" and "second half only", the phrase has been adapted for other purposes, as well.

During WWII, a US paratrooper group (squadron?) (I don't remember which one.) had the motto and emblem "Fools rush in where angels and generals fear to tread."
