IT'S SATURDAY IN ATHENS The band performs their Pre-Game and Half-Time show at every home game in Sanford Stadium and a Half-Time show at most away games. The Pre-Game consists of The Star-Spangled Banner, the UGA Alma Mater, Glory, Bulldog March Medley, Battle Hymn, and Krypton. At the beginning of the pre-game show, the band forms the Arch, the most hallowed symbol of the univeristy, continues to two "Super G's" (facing either the north or south side of the stadium), followed by "Bulldogs" and "Go Dawgs," finally finishing in the Battle Hymn arcs. Battle Hymn of the Bulldog Nation is a song most sacred to the Bulldog Faithful. In the "Upper Deck, Southwest Corner," the Battle Hymn trumpet soloist sings out over the 93,000 as Larry Munson gives a veritable Call to Arms, inspiring the future and solemnly remembering the past and "those who graced the field before." During the game, they perform "Go Georgia Bulldogs," "Go Bulldogs," "Go Dawgs," and various defensive and offensive cheers. Each year, the Redcoats perform 4-5 different Half-Time shows, each ending in the "Spell Georgia Cheer." After the game, the Redcoats perform Battle Hymn, Glory, and Tara's Theme (only at home games). If the Bulldogs were victorious, then Glory would play into Angel Tag (a arrangement of Beethoven's 9th). The Redcoats also play Glory, Glory Dixieland, a fast-paced, jazzy salute to Georgia. REDCOAT BAND CHANT What are the words to the Redcoat Band chant? One half of the band says each line, with the other half of the band repeating each line. Hey lift your head up to the sky, Cause we're the Redcoats passing by, And if you heard what I just said, Get down on your knees and bow your head! GO DAWGS (repeat 4x with echo) Hey what's that coming down the track? A huge machine that's red and black! Ain't nothing finer in the land, Than the Georgia Redcoat Marching Band! GO DAWGS (repeat 4x with echo) (Four taps, band plays GO GEORGIA BULLDOGS cheer) GO GEORGIA BULLDOGS (repeat) (Band in Unison)
