[edit]

The beginning of the article and the last section seem a bit contradictory. Is a German-Briton an ethnic German permanently resident in Britain, or a person of mixed German and British descent (regardless of location)? Or something else? Or both, depending on the context, in which case we need to distinguish a bit better within the article. - Adam Mathias 23:09, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Early History

[edit]

This bit is really biased. I will change it. Enzedbrit 02:55, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

this doesnt seem to cover people who were born in Germany, outside of British Military bases, to parents one of German heritage and one of british. if these people then moved to Britain surely they are counted as a German-Briton???

also is it not a bit arrogant to claim no German-Briton's speak German????

Lives in the UK

[edit]

Why is it only someone who lives in the UK, surely someone of mixed British and German descent is still a German-Briton wherever they live? Alun 04:45, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Point of article

[edit]

What's the point of this article? Are we going to have articles for every possible mix of ethnicities with British? Is there anything special about German-Britons that sets them apart from other people of mixed ethnicity? Should this article be VfDd? Alun 04:45, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A quick google of the term produces no hits except for those on Wikipedia articles, there is no definition of this term on the internet as far as I can see.[1] How do we propose to verify the article when there appear to be no references to it online? We can't even verify the definition in the introduction. I see no reason why German-Britons should only count people living in the UK. Where's French-Briton, Irish-Briton or even Venezuelan-Briton? This article seems pointless to me and not a little narcissistic. Alun 05:00, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

I suggest merging this page with British Germans.
