1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.
  • Hans Dominik (Kriegsmarine) commanded Z4 from January 1943 to January 1944
  • "Richard Beitzen, together with the rest of the 5th Destroyer Flotilla" in that paragraph, I assume "5th Destroyer Flotilla" is a German flotilla? Earlier in that section it was a British flotilla. It would help the reader if the affilitation is clearer worked out.
2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
2c. it contains no original research.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic.
  • Currently misses notable commanders, Hans-Joachim Gadow later Konteradmiral, Hans Dominik KC recipient, Walter Lüdde-Neurath, later adjutant of Dönitz

3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
7. Overall assessment.
  • None of my sources reference Dominik and I've added a link to the German unit, using its German name to distinguish it from its British counterpart.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 18:51, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry to hear that. He is mentioned on page 74 of Hildebrand, Hans H.; Röhr, Albert; Steinmetz, Hans-Otto (1990). Die Deutschen Kriegsschiffe. Biographien - ein Spiegel der Marinegeschichte von 1815 bis zur Gegenwart. (10 Bände) (in German). Mundus Verlag. Volume 7, Cheers MisterBee1966 (talk) 07:46, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've added Dominick and von Gadow. Is Lüdde-Neurath really notable? Dönitz's adjutant isn't really notable in and of itself and he only had command of the ship when she was being rebuilt.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 13:43, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
