Is that really where "gringo" comes from? Another story I have heard is that it is an alteration of "griego," "Greek," in the same sense as the English expression "it's Greek to me." Both explanations sound kind of fanciful to me, so I don't know :) Adam Bishop 06:07, 1 Aug 2003 (UTC)
