A form of child abuse?

I added a "citation needed" for the part that says this may be deliberately induced as a form of child abuse. The entire article needs it, but this particular statement needs it more. Although it's possible, I don't see the same type of reference listed under hot water (i.e., children can be submersed in it as a form of child abuse) or food (children may be deprived of it as a form of child abuse).
