Map[edit]

The map is erroneous. The uploader copied the map from this page [1]. However, he copied a wrong map. The map of r2 is the first image on the page and shows a different distribution from the map on this article. I wanted to contact the uploader regarding the erroneous map, but he is not active since 2014. So, i am removing the misleading/erroneous map, untill the accurate one is uploaded. 52.66.254.159 (talk) 21:12, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's not an "erroneous" map, the one you showed is mtDNA map not Y-DNA. Map on this page is of Y-DNA R2, it's from an actual study - Sahoo et al. who also provided source for South Asian mtDNA study Metspalu et al.

Metspalu et al for R2 mtDNA (not to be confused with Y-DNA) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetics_and_archaeogenetics_of_South_Asia#/media/File:Most-of-the-extant-mtDNA-boundaries-in-South-and-Southwest-Asia-were-likely-shaped-during-the-1471-2156-5-26-2.jpg

Sahoo et al for Y-DNA R2 and other Y-DNA haplogroups. http://www.pnas.org/content/103/4/843/suppl/DC1 117.192.211.187 (talk) 21:47, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
