This looks apochryphical to me. I can find it in An Encyclopaedia of Occultism but no primary sources are cited there. The description sounds a lot like it's based on that of the shape-shifting Harthgrepa, daughter of the giant Vagnophtus as described in Gesta Danorum. Haukur 20:37, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
