A Reasonable Objection

[edit]

I found these sentences "It may end up doing lots of physical damage, but due to its slow speed, special defense, and Fighting type, it is not much more than a big target to Pokémon centered around special attack movesets. Hariyama can support its partner quite well in double battles, though, through moves such as Fake Out and Helping Hand." interesting. If this section of the article's finds merit in mentioning Hariyama's Base 60 SpD., perhaps the article should mention Hariyama's Base 60 Def., considering that Hariyama can't take hits, Physical or Special in the OU Metagame, and still not safely in the UU Metagame. Also of note is Hariyama's Base 144 HP that significantly softens some hits. Furthermore, in all fairness, if the article mentions the fact that Hariyama can "support" its partner in double battles, which is not recommended in true competitive play in the first place, for obvious reasons, it should be noted that Hariyama can quite easily take advantage of a Baton Passed Agility, allowing him, with the correct EV spread, of course, to outspeed anyone in play (NU - OU/Uber) not named Aerodactyl, Jolteon, Electrode, Jumpluff, or Ninjask, which it has a good chance of outspeeding anyhow if they aren't Jolly. After it receives the agility, it can Belly Drum if the circumstances are favorable, allowing it to OHKO anything using the moves Cross Chop and Hidden Power [Ghost], a type combo that no Pokemon resists, with the absolute exception of Lugia running max HP and Defense, which Hidden Power [Ghost] does 75 - 88% to. This strategy's downside is that it is deemed "noobish", which many people believe. Hooray for long sentences. -- The M.P. 22:57, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
