Proposed split

[edit]

Another editor proposed splitting out a section on "lost works" called Hellenica, but then neglected to start a discussion. At this point, splitting seems premature. The "other works" section includes two works that aren't lost, and they occupy the main paragraph of the section—most of it is about just one of them, and it's underdeveloped, with dubiously-placed criticism of the author's motives or judgment, since it doesn't actually develop this idea; the other is barely mentioned. This paragraph is followed by two brief mentions of other works, now lost, that are or might have been called Hellenica, with virtually no details.

If there's enough material on either of those works to support an article, then nothing stops anyone from writing it (or them) without splitting anything off from this one. But as this article purports to cover all of the major or known works under the title, they would still be properly mentioned here. A split would be appropriate if there were more material here than could conveniently fit in this article; but two brief, one-sentence mentions don't begin to present such a situation.
