Season 1: 2009

The episodes for Season 1 are listed on the A&E website as follows, which is different from the order listed in this Wikipedia article, but I left the order as it was in the Wikipedia article since I can't seem to track down information on the broadcast dates. // Internet Esquire (talk) 16:45, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Spin Off

It should be mentioned in the article that Hoarders is a spin off of the A&E show Obsessed. Obsessed featured people with anxiety disorders, some hoarders. Hoarders took over the time slot of Obsessed when It'd first season was over.

Note that there was also a UK show a few years back called Life Laundry with a similar theme and purpose. Anyone know if it also influenced this US show? VJDocherty (talk) 17:29, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Sir Patrick

I absolutely believe there should be, and I'm willing to write it if no one has any objections. I'll create a section on controversy, as this show has received some criticism regarding the exploitation of the hoarders and their families. Scarletsmith (talk) 15:09, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Appalling outcomes

Without going into my opinion of the show, I think there should be a mention of how useless these documented interventions are. Even when a psychologist is on the scene, almost no intervention leads to successful outcomes, and rightly so, since these people don't need a two-day cleanup of their junk, they need ongoing and intensive psychotherapy. These shock interventions are apparently doing more harm than good.Nicolasconnault (talk) 13:38, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

While the article needs to mention the criticism the show has received on several fronts (including the afore-mentioned appalling outcomes), it'll have to be done in a neutral fashion. Episode guide sorely lacking

I recognize these descriptions came off the A&E website, but some of them are stilted, some are just flat-out wrong (as far as what the episode showed) A prime example is Gail of Judi/Gail; it is never actually stated in the show itself that Gail was once a ballerina. I'm willing to clean these up and maybe even expand some of these (example: Bill's hoard in "Patty/Bill" was so bad that his partner Lorelei fell and broke her arm), similar to the episode list for shows like Deadliest Catch or Intervention.
