Maybe some rewording is in order -- Barrier Canyon Style rock art is named that because Barrier Canyon is the "type site" which originally defined the style. I think Polly Schaafsma first identified it as a distinct style and gave it the name, but I want to look up the reference before editing the page. At the time very few Barrier Canyon Style sites were known, and Barrier (Horseshoe) canyon was the most extensive.Mk421 07:35, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
