Incompetence regarding PreCure article contributors
[edit]I may have to talk about this because I looked upon the history of the whole page and see how much incompetent and totally dumb contributors who actually write any PreCure Articles here in Wikipedia, including this one. I say users who put in some unneeded info were from Wikia, not knowing this page isn't supposed to be just like the wikia page by default or needed to have info that are useless. Also, has anyone checked any news articles regarding the series, in Japanese no less. Because there are tons of it, since Precure is a anime icon in Japan and that sources in English are rather scarce or just unreliable (livejournal, facebook, tumblr). Unless anyone stepped up, learn Japanese and pretty much get their sense together, then I don't think this article should exist in the first place.--BlackGaia02 (talkpage if you dare) (talk) 02:06, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
Emiru's official English romanization name
[edit]I found a picture of Emiru's name in English as seen in this screenshot. Is this one's considered to be official? Please let me know.--Punk 911 (talk) 07:45, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
Heisei
[edit]Do we really need to mention the Heisei period? I don't think it's relevant at all. --CurePink (talk) 10:18, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
- Agreed. It's 100% irrelevant. Just about as relevant as mentioning that a specific show is the last one to be produced in a certain decade. And to think that the user that keeps adding that back keeps complaining how other users are "incompetent", yet I could hardly see how he is noticeably more competent than any of us. The irony is real. Sk8erPrince (talk) 08:59, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
- Agree, remove. Don't forget someone added it to Template:Pretty_Cure as well. Rctgamer3 (talk) 15:52, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
Upgrade article's class from Start to C?
[edit]I think this article is now detailed enough to be bumped up to C class. Pikaryaa (talk) 18:28, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
Hugtto or Hug?
[edit]Sorry to ping you : Sk8erPrince, I just noticed something. Toei animation USA's website lists this as HUG! Pretty Cure. Maho Girls was already changed to its respective english title, so should we change this article name accordingly? I don't want to do this myself since I'm a new user and I fear I might screw it up. --OmoriP (talk) 14:26, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- It uh, looks like that user got banned. I'm going to go ahead and make the change to stay consistent with the other Precure pages, as this is considered the official title by Toei USA's marketing team. They continue to update that website with titles that are being used for official English adaptations, suggesting HUG! Pretty Cure would be the correct title (unless another one comes up later but what can ya do? Licensing is a tricky business.)Rebochan (talk) 17:38, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Rebochan: The title shouldn't be capitalized since it's not an acronym. lullabying (talk) 17:14, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Lullabying: Toei capitalizes the whole word in their English language marketing. Tried to check the capitalization guidelines on trademark names but it seems a bit unclear how to tackle this one. Rebochan (talk) 19:22, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Rebochan: Please see MOS:JAPAN#Titles of media and MOS:ALLCAPS. "Hug" should not be in full capitals because it's not an acronym and the capitalization is only stylized. lullabying (talk) 19:33, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Lullabying: Okay, just trying to parse the Manual of Style - if I understand this correctly, since the English language title is using caps in the name, it should stay in caps in the article body but the page itself needs to be in Title Case. I have not actually found a source in English that uses the team name however, so I'd err on not using the all caps stylization for talking about the team of Cures themselves. Rebochan (talk) 22:32, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Rebochan: Sorry for the late reply, but no, that's not what I mean. The article cannot be titled "HUG! Pretty Cure" because the capitalization is a stylization rather than an acronym. It should be titled "Hug! Pretty Cure" instead. lullabying (talk) 08:24, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
