Update needed: some thoughts[edit]

The article definitely needs to be updated with five to seven years' worth of information. There appears to be little significant information dated to any year later than 2017. This forum thread, while not itself acceptable as a source, discusses some important developments with respect to the JLTV and the Humvee, as well as including links to articles that can be used as sources. Some takeaways:

  • JLTVs will only replace part of the overall Humvee fleet.
  • New Humvees are still being produced by AM General, in addition to older vehicles being overhauled and retrofitted.
  • The general sense is that Humvees will remain in service until at least 2040 in the US Marines and 2050 in the US Army.
