Lead
  • Just as a general rule, there is no need to reference something in the lead if it is referenced later on. Also I would move the reference about the the nickname to the infobox
History
  • "26–0 beating at the hands of" not very encyclopaedic change to "26–0 by Preston"
  • "had topped it five times" again not great wording, I take it by topped it who mean won so I would change it to that.
  • "The first year back" change to "Their first season back in the League"
  • "The successful and much sought-after manager Mike McKenzie" this needs a reference as at the moment its POV.
  • "but remainded at the club" typo
  • "the Tigers got off to a sluggish start" change to "The Tigers started slowly
  • "during which they conceded only one home fixture." I think conceded should be changed to lost, sentence confused me when initially reading it.
  • Overall the section is good, but for a club with 125 years worth of history, I think the section leans towards recentism. I would like to see an expansion of the first section; two paragraphs covering nearly 100 years of history is not enough in my opinion.
Colours and crest
  • "This strip was used for the next two years until in 1887 Hyde's official colours" sentence doesn't make sense change to This strip was used for the next two years until 1887, when Hyde's official colours...
  • "In the club's first season," fairly sure the comma should a semi-colon
Ground
  • "Ewen Fields was made-over in summer 2010" not happy with made-over I would change the whole sentence to "The colour of the ground was changed from red to blue in 2010..."
References
  • Quite a few problems here: firstly the publisher is in italics in some places and not in others who need to be consistent.
  • There are a few book references but these don't give the publisher, the year published or the isbn. Look at the way the referencing for books is done in the Manchester United F.C. article and follow suit.
  • Any news sites used such as the Manchester Evening News need the date the story was published included and the author of the story (if there is one) included.
  • RSSF is actually RSSSF.

Apart from these concerns the article is in good shape. I'll put the article on hold until these issues are fixed and will gladly pass it once they are done. NapHit (talk) 20:09, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
