Equation units

[edit]

The final equation has inconsistent units: in the denominator you end up with a weight minus a mass. In the terms in which it's written here, the last terms with residual volume and 100cc should be multiplied by g. I've seen this version before, and I think it's from sloppiness of using the word 'weight' to mean 'mass'. You can see how it disappears and the words change meaning in this derivation cached on google: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:RiJpVjeBoEwJ:www.indiana.edu/~p409/labs/lab10/hydrostaticweighing.ppt+&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a
