Hypoxic hypoxia
[edit]Is this title for real? Dhaluza (talk) 00:00, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yes. it was, and may have been better than the current one. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:05, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- Dhaluza, you requested the page move, can you explain why you thought the new title would be better? · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 09:59, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
Generalized hypoxia
[edit]There are two meanings/usages associated with this term. Some sources state that it is a synonym for Hypoxic hypoxia, others imply that it is where all tissues are affected, as opposed to localised hypoxia, which is where only some tissues are affected. It is not clear which is the intended scope of this article, but I have gone with the former, as it was previously titled Hypoxic hypoxia, and moved for reasons not immediately apparent. Hypoxic hypoxia would fairly obviously have generalised effects, but other mechanisms can also have generalised effects. Both meanings are plausible. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:05, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- Generalised hypoxia as hypoxia where all tissues are affected is discussed at some length in Hypoxia (medical). It is not clear that additional information on that meaning is useful as a separate article. Hypoxic hypoxia seems more worthy of a separate article, but the motives for the move are not evident and there was no discussion that I can find. It remains unclear what the scope of this article is intended to be. On the one hand, the old title would be less ambiguous, and on the other the article seems redundant. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 09:59, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
