Image review
  • File:Kittie2011albumcover.jpg Red XN, the image has a maintenance tag.
  • File:Kittie Gramercy Theatre 2012 brighter.png, Green tickY, screenshot of a user-filmed scene from a concert. The CC would be worthless in reference to the music in the video (the rights belong to Kittie, the label or whoever, but certainly not to a random spectator with a cell phone), but this is an image and should be fine.
Infobox and lead
  • The name of the studio should be enough, we don't need the city where the studio is located. That can be explained in the article itself.
Music, writing and recording
  • "I've Failed You has been described as death metal[3][4] and heavy metal." That doesn't sound as the ideal sentence to start the main article. The lead does it better, "I've Failed You is the sixth studio album by Canadian heavy metal band Kittie..." establishes the basic context (who made this album? At which point of their career?) and builds from there. You should start in a similar way here. Besides, is "has been described" really necessary? Is the music genre of the album a topic of discussion, or open to opinion?
  • "Exclaim! considered it to be the band's "darkest, most personal and emotional release thus far"." That's not an opinion of the magazine itself, that's the opinion of "Denise Falzon from Exclaim!". And opinions about the album should be located at "Critical reception", this section is for the facts about the making of the album.

Thank you for doing this review! Green is for your comments, blue is for quoted text.
    • Changed the URL of the image to Amazon instead of direct image link. If this is good, you can remove the maintainence tag on the image.
    • The name of the studio should be enough, we don't need the city where the studio is located. Per Template:Infobox album#studio: "If the album was recorded in a recording studio, enter the name and location. Link the studio, but not well-known cities, states, or countries"
    • Tried changing the beginning of MW&R. Is this any better?
    • "Exclaim! considered it to be the band's "darkest, most personal and emotional release thus far"." That's not an opinion of the magazine itself, that's the opinion of "Denise Falzon from Exclaim!". I have clarified this with attribution The article cited is an interview with frontwoman Morgan Lander, and judging by this quote below, the author is stating their opinion based on what they got from that interaction so I consider it somewhat informed:

But as front-woman Morgan Lander explains, the album marks the first time that she was able to fully let her guard down lyrically and open up about the extremely hard time that was the last few years of her life, making I've Failed You not only Kittie's darkest, most personal and emotional release thus far, but also their most accomplished.

    • And opinions about the album should be located at "Critical reception", this section is for the facts about the making of the album. That being said, I sorta put it there because the mood of the album wasn't really specified in reviews.... which is potentially an issue. I did kinda omit the idea of "darkest album" from the lead after initially including it some time ago. AHH I'll just remove it.
I've also tweaked a few things here and there in M,W&R to add more commentary on the music independent from the band/interviews. Besides that, if you haveany further comments, do tell. EEE. // Chchcheckit (talk) 09:38, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
