Differences between BASIC versions
[edit]See for example [1] which is from the old "Compute!" magazine, 1986, and looks like a credible description of the differences. --Wtshymanski (talk) 14:56, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- The Article missed the version of BASIC, called the BASIC Compiler, or BASCOM.EXE —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.232.207.6 (talk) 18:12, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- "Influenced by IBM Cassette BASIC
Influenced IBM BASICA, GW-BASIC" No, Cassette BASIC was just another type of BASIC interpreter that came out simultaneously with the PC. The Cassette BASIC interpreter ROM routines were used by both BASIC.COM and BASICA.COM, but not BASCOM.EXE. ( The BASIC Manual lists all the compatibilities ).
Sould be changed to:
Influence by: Microsoft BASIC Interpreter Influenced: GW-BASIC Required: IBM Cassette BASIC in ROM.
I support and recommend the merging of this article into the BASICA article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.232.207.6 (talk) 18:09, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
