GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
"India devolved to ninth position in the final medal table standings with total nine medals" - I would add an "of" after "total"
"India devolved to ninth position in the final medal table standings with total nine medals (equally distributed in all medal categories), India ranking first in the medal table of the previous Commonwealth Youth Games." - India devolved from the top position in the previous Games to the ninth position...
"Indian is participating " - India
What do you mean by "edition"?
Changed to "revision". Second edition/revision of the Commonwealth Games. — Bill william comptonTalk 12:12, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "National Olympic Committee of India, Indian Olympic Association, " -suggest 'The Indian Olympic Association, the country's National Olympic Committee:.."
"In 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games" - in the
"In 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games, Indian competitors won most medals; they earned most gold (33) and most silver (26), " - In the ..., India won the most gold (33), silver (26) and total medals...
"and finished first in the final medal table standings.[4] " - this is self-evident, as the country with the most gold medals are also top-ranked.
Yeah, but there might be a possibility that one or more nations tied for a first position, and equal ranking was provided. Like it always happens with the tail-enders. — Bill william comptonTalk 12:12, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "Indian athletes won total of nine medals at the Games" - better: "a total of"
"India ranking first in the medal table of the previous Commonwealth Youth Games, with total 76 medals." - India was ranked...
"Olympic Gold Quest supported Pusarla Venkata Sindhu won a gold for India in the women's singles event of badminton.[8] " - not sure what you mean; needs rewording
Please recheck. — Bill william comptonTalk 12:12, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "Other two gold medals for India came from athletics, in which Durgesh Kumar and Navjetdeep Singh finished on the top of the podium of 400 m hurdles and shot put," - The other two gold medals came from Durgesh..., who finished...
"Badminton player Srikanth Kidambi was the only multiple medal winning Indian athlete at the Games, winning a silver in mixed doubles and a bronze in men's doubles." - Badminton player... became the only Indian athelete to win multiple medals, including a silver...
"Poonia won a silver in light flyweight and Singh won a bronze in middleweight." - remove the "a"s
Medalists table is not sorting correctly. Names should be sorted by the surnames, and the date column has an error with 9th September
"Navjeet Kaur Dhillon was one of the seven athletes who participated in the women's discus throw event." - one of the... who to...
"on offer" - not sure this is the correct wording in sports articles, but it is redundant anyway.
"In men's doubles, pair of Srikanth Kidambi and Hema Thandarang won a bronze after defeating Canadian pair of Nathan Choi and Nyl Yakura." replace "pair of" with "the pair", and maybe replace "and" with a slash
I've done as you said, but it looks odd to me. I have never seen slash like this in sports articles. — Bill william comptonTalk 12:12, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "also won a silver in mixed doubles event" either say "won a silver medal" or just "won silver"
"winning all his preliminary bouts by large margins, " is "margin" the correct word here? Suggest to replace it
As per my knowledge, it's a common term in boxing. Can't think of any other replacement. Maybe you can help?
  1. "Bhosale ranked 37 in his time trial event; he took a time of 11.24.[27]" - was ranked... and drove...
Please recheck this one. — Bill william comptonTalk 12:12, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
