Subspecies
Here in this article it states that "Indian Elephant" is one of the four subspecies of Elephas maximus, but the entry on the genus Elephas lists six. There is a posibility that the editor who wrote it here meant to say that this subspecies is one of the surviving four. If that is the case, would be nice to clarify it. This Asian Elephant subspecies is by far the most common in zoos, should that have mention? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.36.130.109 (talk) 21:11, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
File:Elephas maximus (Bandipur).jpg to appear as POTD
Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Elephas maximus (Bandipur).jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on October 21, 2014. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2014-10-21. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:21, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
