40th Brigade, Iraqi National Guard

[edit]

A change of command ceremony for the 40th Brigade of the Iraqi National Guard was held at the ING compound at Camp Al Tahreer, Baghdad Dec. 8, 2004. ING Maj. Gen. Mudhir Mawla Abood turned over his command of the brigade to Brig. Gen. Jaleel Khalaf Shwail. The brigade officially assumed control of its area of operation on February 21. This is the first ING brigade to have direct control over an area of operation. Brig. Gen. Jaleel Khalaf Shwail, 40th Brigade commander, said he is proud to represent his country and his more than 2,800 soldiers. https://www.dvidshub.net/news/726/changing-guard-iraqi-brigade-under-new-management Buckshot06 (talk) 13:38, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
