I'll review this. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 02:50, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Can we get a link or explanation for "Conseil protestant du Congo"?
  • Footnote added.
  • In the national election for the Republic of the Congo's independence in Sendwe earned a seat: looks like a missing date after "in"?
  • Revised as "In the national elections before the Republic of the Congo's independence on 30 June 1960 Sendwe earned a seat".
  • What is a "preferential vote"? If this means a preference voting system was used, I think an explanation (or note) would be better than just the adjective.
The source states, "Député national élu sur la liste du Cartel avec 20.283 voix de préférence dans le district d’E’ville." I'm not sure what exactly is meant by "votes of preference" but the preferential system appears to be the most likely explanation.
I agree, but I think it's best not to make assumptions. I'd make this just "votes", which is definitely correct. If you feel the adjective is important, I'd add a note saying "the source describes them as 'preferential votes' without giving more details about the voting method". @Mike Christie: Removed the adjective.
  • he acted as its rapporteur: I don't know what this means. Is it a position with defined functions, or is this just the French word in the sources for the nature of his role?
The French word was given by the English language source. There seems to be no exact translation, but it names a role of person designated the task of "reporting" back to a deliberative body on a subject or set of findings.
Google Translate, which gives definitions as well, defines it as "Person responsible for reporting an assembly, an event before an authority, a group." How about "appointed by the Chamber to serve on a reconciliation commission, and report on its activities"? Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 13:24, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    Wikilinked the term.
  • BALUBAKAT began to organize its own administration of the province: this is North Katanga? I think a little more background is needed; since Katanga is not reintegrated till 1963, evidently that's separate; so North Katanga and Katanga are non-overlapping?
  • Added that Katanga was split up after it was reintegrated into the country.
  • Not an issue for GA, but footnote 3 does not link to a reference; and Gerard & Kuklick is out of sort order in the references.
    Fixed.
You moved Gerard & Kuklick to after Horizon, but if it's sorted by first author, it should be after Gérard-Libois. And Horizon should be before Hoskyns, come to that. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 13:24, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed the fix. -Indy beetle (talk) 19:09, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
