Hi there, I'll review this article. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 01:43, 24 July 2022 (UTC)
- Comments below, placing on hold. PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 17:32, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]- I'd add the fact that she is a point guard
Early life and career
[edit]- "playing basketball, netball, soccer and high jump before focusing on basketball" → a couple of things here
- the layout of this sentence suggests the wording "playing high jump", which doesn't read as correct; could this be reworded to fix that?
- I'd add a few words here to read "before deciding to focus on basketball"
- "She attended Berwick Secondary College in Berwick, Victoria and" → comma after "Victoria" per MOS:GEOCOMMA
College career
[edit]- "averaging 6.3 points, 1.5 assists and one rebound per game" → MOS:NUMNOTES says
Comparable values nearby one another should be all spelled out or all in figures
, so I'd recommend switching to "1 rebound" - "playing fewer minutes despite starting in half of her games" → does "starting in half of her games" mean that Shelley started half of the games she appeared in, or that she started half of the games the team played that year? The word "her" is making that ambiguous.
- "in a 92–69 victory over USC" → since USC has a team page for that season, you can retarget that link to 2020–21 USC Trojans women's basketball team
- "she averaged four points, 1.9 assists and 1.7 rebounds per game" → change to "4" per NUMNOTES above
- "in a 92–74 win over Illinois" → can link to 2021–22 Illinois Fighting Illini women's basketball team
- "averaged 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and five assists per game" → can change to "5" per above
- "She was named to the second-team All-Big Ten" → reword to either "She was named second-team All-Big Ten" or "She was named to the second All-Big Ten team"
National team career
[edit]- "averaged 18.8 points, 3.3 steals and three assists per game" → can change to "3" per above
- "She averaged 13.8 points, four rebounds and four per game," → same NUMNOTES as above, also a word is missing where the last stat name should be
- "averaged 8.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and three assists" → to "3" as above
- "averaging 8.8 points, seven rebounds and 4.8 assists per game" → to "7" as above
Personal life
[edit]- "and Austin plays the sport" → I know this wording is used to avoid repetition but it sounds a tad awkward to me; would there be another way to say this?
- this isn't necessary to achieve a pass but it could be interesting to add her major at Oregon before her transfer if that info is available
@PCN02WPS: All points are now addressed, although I could not find her major at Oregon. Sportzeditz (talk) 22:53, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
- That's alright, it's not a big deal. Everything else looks good; sources look fine to me (the one Tweet is from FIBA's official account so I'm prepared to accept this as reliable) so I'm happy to give this a pass. Well done! PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 23:29, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
