hello
[edit]This is my page and I appreciate all edits made to this page! HimSur9 (talk) 17:45, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- @HimSur9, this is a Wikipedia article, not your page. It's nice of you to appreciate other editors contributing, but we don't own articles we create. Schazjmd (talk) 19:46, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- >my page
- buddy this is a collaborative encyclopedia. nobody owns anything here. EytanMelech (talk) 20:19, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- Exactly, it's not your page just because you created it. ShticktatorTal (talk) 23:28, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- I know. I'm just saying that I created it. That is true. I do not own anything, yes. HimSur9 (talk) 7:39, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
Notability concerns
[edit]The article currently has 16 sources cited. Not a single one provides independent significant coverage of JetPunk. Sources need to be found that show that JetPunk meets WP:WEBCRIT. Schazjmd (talk) 23:36, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- Considering that their quizzes have 733,000,000 takes, I'm assuming they do meet some kind of notability requirements, but I guess it does somewhat lack significant coverage. EytanMelech (talk) 01:41, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- Ok, there are now 21 non-Jetpunk sources on this page, I think that's decent enough to avoid deletion. EytanMelech (talk) 03:14, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- @EytanMelech, I appreciate you adding more refs, but none of them provide significant coverage. Schazjmd (talk) 15:08, 21 May 2023 (UTC)

Before I restore the notability tag, I've checked the non-JetPunk refs:
- Alternativeto is "crowd-sourced" (WP:UGC), not RS
- Viraltalky is a listicle, not RS
- Houston Community College is a mention
- GoDaddy is database listing
- News Corporation (nashikcorporation.in) does not appear to be RS
- The Chinese(?) book is a guide to English vocab that has a brief mention of a JetPunk quiz
- robertosconocchini.it does not appear to be RS
- niu.com is another listicle
- secondwavemeida.com is not independent (source is John Hostetler)
- educatorstechnology.com is another listicle
- phoenixsnewtimes.com is just a brief mention
- catholidherald.org is just a brief mention
- book Higher Education Learning Methodologies and Technologies appears to be brief mention
- Hindustan Times, brief mention in list after article about something else
- the YouTube video not RS
- a hashtag on TikTok is not RS
- makerbay.net is just a promotional para
- ypie.org just a brief mention
- similarweb listicle and database listing
None of these provide independent, significant coverage. Schazjmd (talk) 20:34, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- Another editor put that tag back already, thanks. Schazjmd (talk) 20:36, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- You argue that these sources are not comprehensive enough for this article, however Wikipedia's policy of "Ignore all rules" states that "If a rule prevents you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia, ignore it." Hence, the rule you argue for prevents this article, which is otherwise notable, from existing. It certainly has the notability, but lacks sources that cover it in-depth for no particular reason, even though the site's top 200 quizmakers have a combined take total of over 600 million. Nevertheless, I believe that it has more than enough sources where it is merely mentioned to qualify its existence as a page. After all, just because an article doesn't fully qualify under a particular rule, that doesn't mean the article shouldn't even exist. ShticktatorTal (talk) 01:24, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed. JetPunk is a quiz website, meaning there isn't much "significant coverage" of it because (at least in my opinion) it's not that deep. Unlike vast biographical or historical articles (among others) that have many events or long/detailed timelines to cover and present (i.e articles about cities that detail their geography, demographics, enterprise, history, etc.), I'd argue JetPunk is more "simple". It's a quiz website... and there's not much more than that to be said. Why would there be significant coverage of it when there isn't much to cover? Thus, as ShticktatorTal said, I'd ignore the "significant coverage" rule for this article, especially since JetPunk is notable in its popularity as evident by its widespread usage. The shop
[edit]The JetPunk shop's gonna get closed on December 31, 2024. Would think of already writing it on the article. The source - here. Levisekkq (talk) 15:22, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
