Contesting speedy deletion

[edit]

Greetings, this is not advertising, and I contest the 'speedy deletion' nomination of this page. I am president of Inland Waterways International, and independent of all hotel barge owners and operators. The point of these articles is to present an activity in unique craft of heritage value, that form an integral part of the landscape of French waterways in particular. Yes, these operators are selling holiday cruises in their barges, but that's not the point of the encyclopedia article, which is to correctly reflect the activity taking place on the inland waterways today. Thank you for your attention. David-waterways (talk) 18:06, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have joined WikiShips with a view to playing a role in improving the structure and access to information on barges and other inland craft, for which the word ship is not suitable in English. Schiff works for all in German (and in Dutch), but not in English. It would be of great value for readers if the information could be broken down into seagoing and inland.
