GA on hold

A few notes...

  • Image:JohnFoulds.jpg - Copyright owner is probably the newspaper that printed it...
  • I'd like to see more sourcing, if possible. At the same time, I see how this could be an issue. At the very least, could you please inline cite the stuff in the "References" section - eg. say what facts in the article you got from those books, etc. That's the main thing before I pass this.
  • "Incidental music for plays" - What does this mean?
  • "Personal life" and "Legacy" sections need refs (books aforementioned?)

Leave me a note on my talk page when you've done this stuff. Dihydrogen Monoxide 08:09, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and might not be applicable for the article in question.

  • Watch for redundancies that make the article too wordy instead of being crisp and concise. (You may wish to try Tony1's redundancy exercises.)
    • Vague terms of size often are unnecessary and redundant - “some”, “a variety/number/majority of”, “several”, “a few”, “many”, “any”, and “all”. For example, “All pigs are pink, so we thought of a number of ways to turn them green.”
  • Please ensure that the article has gone through a thorough copyediting so that it exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work. See also User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a.[?]

You may wish to browse through User:AndyZ/Suggestions for further ideas. Thanks, Dihydrogen Monoxide 08:09, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

As very few of the requested changes have taken place, I've had to fail the article. Dihydrogen Monoxide 03:00, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, was very busy over the last few days and didn't have time to work on the article. Thanks for your suggestions; will renominate the article after I (or other editors) have had a chance to edit it. — Cheers, JackLee talk 05:52, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
