Notability[edit]

This person does not appear to meet WP:GNG, in that there is not significant coverage in independent sources.--- Possibly (talk) 22:45, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it's possible, (I thought it was iffy, and I guess I regret putting that much time into trying to find sources to build an article) though the UNFPA put their thumb on the scale by suggesting her inclusion in the WikiGap challenge list (which I was following), and by listing her in one of their publications. My better judgement would agree that she doesn't have a lot of coverage. I suppose I'll blame Eric Luth here for leading us astray here if it comes to a delete. I suppose I'll have to pout and accept the loss of 2 contest points if so.--Anon423 (talk) 23:20, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
For reference, the background for including her was her inclusion in the UNFPA Icons and Activists, which is a report on what they refer to as the leading people within sexual and reproductive health across the world, including about a hundred names. Thanks, Eric. I intend no insult to you. English Wikipedia's notability (inclusion) standards have been a recurring issue for me as I tried to accrue contest points and follow the recommendations while also following the editing guidelines. I believe not all of the recommended figures (e.g. Nelsa Cardoso) on the WikiGap articles list deserve an article on enwiki, so I think the list could be somewhat better curated. But I understand the notability guidelines may differ between languages (I personally am unaware of the details), so take that opinion with a grain of salt.--Anon423 (talk) 23:34, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
