Greenpeace protest[edit]

Hello Dis-B&K, this was a serious protest in the relatively quiet Sheerness port, at the peak of Volkswagen emission scandal. Perhaps more relevant than your noodles supper, unless you usually have them at home in Sheerness? As far as I am aware it's rather unusual to have protests such this inside a ISPS port, with protesters able to board a ship from the quay. Goodwillgames (talk) 07:57, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for bringing this to talk per WP:ONUS although the removed content should have stayed removed until consensus was obtained to restore it. I was unaware of the context with regard to the emission scandal but even so although that could arguably be grounds for inclusion in the Volkswagen and Greenpeace pages and possibly the Sheerness port page (if intrusion is so unusual) I do not think it warrants mention in this company article. K Line operate 11 ships 365 days a year, a 24 hour delay caused by 100 protesters is not significant to the company and the involvement of the company is marginal - the protest was about Volkswagen diesel cars not K line whose only involvement was being the innocent transporter of a cargo which Greenpeace objected to. Whats more why should we give any publicity to a PR stunt by 100 people - we would not mention a 24 hour delay caused to one ship by weather, tug boat or berthing problems. I doubt we will get any more comments here but I will leave your edit stand although I still believe it should not be included Lyndaship (talk) 08:49, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Noted, understood and appreciated. You are the expert in this industry, and I am glad you found the time for explaining me your position. All main RORO shipping Lines are now on the lookout for further protests (and one recently happened on a larger scale in Bremerhaven), therefore recording the first episode happened in Europe appeared relevant.
